BAFTA Scotland Awards 2012 – Call For Entries

The BAFTA In Scotland awards for 2012 are now open for entries.

The games category is open to ALL games, created in Scotland, or by Scottish developers.  The games award covers ALL platforms from Triple A console titles, through to free-to-play social titles.  The most important criteria is that the game is publicly available.  So, if you have a title which you’ve released through any channel, then it’s eligible.  If it’s a complete title, but has not been released in some fashion, then it’s not eligible.  Simple.

Entries cost £60 + VAT.

You can find all of the rules, entry guidelines and submission details over on the BAFTA In Scotland website.

The academy is keen to encourage new teams, independent developers and new entrants to submit entries this year.  In 2011, the awards received their heghest number of entries in history, with over 25 entrants, covering every platform from mobile, to Kinect, to iOS to PC.  With the evolution and growth in the industry over the last 12 months, we’re fascinated to see this year’s entries.

Denki won last year’s games award, for their word-based battler, Quarrel.

You have until 17:00 on July 31st 2012 to get your entries in.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on this year’s competition and hope to update you on the submissions, judging etc. as time goes on.
