Last Chance To Jam…

Part of the forthcoming wave of gaming goodness which is Dare ProtoPlay will be a corresponding 3 x day GAME JAM taking place at Dundee’s Caird Hall from Friday 12th – Sunday 14th of August.

There are a very limited number of spaces left for the Jam.  It’s free to participate and compete, but you have to register.  Bring your own laptop/kit and join in one of the most vibrant and exciting events of the whole ProtoPlay experience.

The Game Jam team are really keen to include as many experienced developers from Dundee’s many studios as possible – as well and indies, new developers, students and… well, you name it.

Here’s the lowdown, direct from the GameJam team…

Dare To Jam is a free Game Jam hosted at the Caird Hall in Dundee by Dundee Game Jam (www.dundeegamejam.org).
It runs over the course of three days as part of Dare Protoplay (http://daretobedigital.com/protoplay/) from the Friday the 12th of August until Sunday the 14th.  Doors open at 10am on the Friday and the Jam will kick off officially at 10.30am with the announcement of the theme!  The Jam ends at 12am on the Sunday after which there will be presentations of the finished games.
The Caird hall closes at 6pm each night but opens again at 10am the next day.  If you can’t make it on Friday, don’t worry, just turn up on Saturday and start then!  Although the venue will close each evening, participants are encouraged to continue working on the their projects after hours.  You can also participate remotely.
This is a great chance to meet and collaborate with people in the games industry, have fun and make a game … you may even be able to win shiny badges!  You will need to being your own LAPTOP (and any other hardware you might need) and unfortunately there is NO NETWORK ACCESS available in the Caird Hall (sorry) so bring a broadband dongle if you have one and/or make sure you have all the software and documentation you will need preloaded.
We have 50 seated tickets issued on a first come first served basis however we have overflow space so people can sit anywhere they like within the very large upper balcony.
Tickets are available from http://daretojam.eventbrite.com/ and are FREE. If you have any questions please get in touch on Twitter @dundeegamejam or email us at team@dundeegamejam.org and our website is http://www.dundeegamejam.org
As well as the Jam, Dare Protoplay features all the projects form this year’s Dare To Be Digital, A pro-gamer tournament, free industry talks, David Braben and masses of other great games related stuff.
You can’t say fairer than that.  Go on, get involved…
