Lords Recommend Immediate Loot Box Reclassification

The House of Lords Gambling Committee is recommending the immediate reclassification of loot boxes in videogames as gambling. The report goes on to state that any game or mechanic which has 'gambling like characteristics' should be similarly regulated.

Government Calls For Evidence on Loot Boxes

The DCMS will launch a call for evidence into the use of 'loot boxes' within videogames, to decide whether or not they should be considered 'gambling'.
