Ludometrics’ Gridlock Now On Greenlight

Ludometrics has placed it’s retrotastic four-gun-turreted arena-based shoot-em-up on Steam Greenlight. So you, the earth council for strategic space defence and laser-based death battles can vote on whether to prioritise the safety of mankind within a vast uncaring universe.

If you’ve not been paying attention, Gridlock is an arena-based shooter that sees you take control of four gun turrets. In the middle of the grid, a variety of abstract yet lethal geometric shapes emerge which will destroy your turrets. Unless, of course, you can shoot the shapes first. Game over comes when/if all your turrets are destroyed.

Bad shapes. Nasty shapes. Back to your ichor-festooned, neon-besmattered corner of the universe, geometric shapes! With your angles! And your sides! And your deadly, deadly touch of extinguishingness.

Gridlock harkens back to a time when games were about beating your own high-score and also about shooting abstract shapes. Nothing more, nothing less.

The game supports Xbox 360 controller on PC & Mac, if you like that kind of thing. If you don’t then you have no business here.

When Gridlock is greenlit, Ludometrics will take time to make sure it supports everything you’re used to seeing supported in a game available via Steam: leaderboards, achievements. Maybe even Linux support. Because alien motherships us Linux.

Obviously, if you happen to have bought Gridlock elsewhere in the meantime, or perhaps even in a bundle, keys will be provided assuming there aren’t any issues from anywhere about that.
