BAFTA Scotland Nominations

After a year which saw the highest number of games entries EVER, the nominees for the 2014 BAFTA Scotland awards have been announced, including the three title now competing in the Games category.

The nominees for the 2014 BAFTA Scotland Games Award are:

• Coolson’s Artisinal Chocolate Alphabet – Things Made Out Of Other Things (iOS)
• Impossible Road – Pixels On Toast (iOS)
• Mr Shingu’s Paper Zoo – Stormcloud (iOS)

The awards ceremony takes place on November 17th in central Glasgow.

It’s incredible to see three new independent games, all mobile, picking up the nominations.  All three are quite different to the recognised genres and existing game types, incorporating spelling things with whimsical and delicious chocolate letters (Coolson’s), origami tamagotchi in a zoo (Mr Shingu) and ball-based weeping, screaming and stress (Impossible Road).

There were nearly 40 entries in the games category this year, which broke all kinds of records and encompassed titles across every platform and genre.
