As we pointed out last week, the chart is stuffed with major, multi-title franchises, sequels and games which have legacies of years and in some cases decades. The success of a ‘new’ title like Minecraft in the charts is proof-positive that the really exciting advances and developments in gaming are likely to come from the periphery of the games world. The indies, the smaller, more agile teams with the crazy ideas which the major publishers would discount out of hand…
