We are looking for talented computer science, physics or maths graduates and innovative companies to collaborate on R&D projects to boost growth in the creative industries.
Our current partners include Aardman, Codeplay, Electronic Arts, Disney Research, Ninja Theory, Natural Motion, 4T2 and many more.

Info for Students
You will need a strong first degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or related subjects. Excellent technical ability and programming skills are essential.
You must be a citizen of the UK/European Union or have indefinite leave to remain in the UK.
These four-year doctoral studentships (leading to an EngD in Digital Media) provide
- Annual tax-free stipend of at least £15,090
- Tuition fees of approx. £7,500
- Plus generous funding for conferences and equipment
Info for Companies
- 4 year programme. The researcher spends 75% of this time in the company.
- The CDE funds tuition fees, researcher’s tax-free stipend, equipment and conferences (Approx £32K pa)
- IP generated by the project belongs to the company. The University retains the right to publish aspects of the research.
- We ask a typical contribution of £5k pa to support the Centre and £3k pa top-up to the researcher. Expenditure on this programme is eligible for R&D tax-relief. We are also interested in discussing in-kind support.
