There’s ONE WEEK to go until the North East of North digital arts festival takes place across much of central Dundee. The whole programme is now complete, confirmed and available to read. You can find the PDF here.
The last few weeks have seen the event build up quite a head of steam. Several salons have taken place around the city (several in secret ad-hoc locations, revealed only to attendees, a few hours before they began) covering topics such as digital curation, digital freedom, digital narrative and digital sharing.
The NEoN character design competition, which challenged artists – both professional, amateur AND under 16 – to create a character within the basic NEoN template, attracted over 500 entries. The top 30 of these are now LIVE on Teetonic, where you can vote for your favourite and see it (and buy it) on an actual T-shirt at NEoN.
You can find all of the latest updates from the AppCon and AppJam on the official website – as well as buying one of the few remaining tickets.
The NEoN website has all of the latest information and updates for the festival. Tickets are still on sale.
Even better, this year the DCA is involved in NEoN. ON Thursday 11th of November, the DCA is showing the incredible documentary The People Versus George Lucas. If you haven’t heard of the film yet, it’s been picking up critical reviews since it was screened at the 2010 Edinburgh International Film Festival.
We’re looking forward to seeing you there…
