Have Your Say: Creative Glasgow Launches 2026 Sector Survey

Creative Glasgow Logo

Creative Glasgow has launched its 2026 Creative Community Survey, calling on artists, practitioners, studio leads, freelancers, and cultural organisations across the city to share the realities of working in today’s creative economy.

Carried out in partnership with Dr Polina Zioga of the Interactive Filmmaking Lab, the research project aims to establish an accurate, grassroots assessment of how Glasgow’s creative community is coping, identify the primary barriers facing those working across the city, and guide the organisation’s priorities for the year ahead.

Having evolved from the Glasgow Connected Arts Network, Creative Glasgow has built its programmes – including the Last Thursday member gatherings, Culture Matters, the Pitch Pot micro-funding scheme, and free one-to-one business support – around direct community consultation.

Why the Games Community Needs to Be Counted

For Scotland’s games developers, narrative designers, animators, and digital creators based in the west of Scotland, taking part in wider creative sector consultations is critical.

Historically, creative sector advocacy has often leaned heavily towards traditional performing arts, screen, and heritage, leaving games and interactive media under-represented when local support mechanisms, civic investment, and studio spaces are planned.

By actively participating in the Creative Glasgow survey, game developers, studios, immersive creators, and digital practitioners can ensure that the interactive sector’s unique commercial, technical, and space requirements are fully accounted for in city-wide policy and regional funding strategies.

Survey Scope and Public Findings

The consultation is open to all individuals aged 18 and over who live, work, study, or contribute to creative and cultural activity across Greater Glasgow. The survey is entirely voluntary, anonymous, and strictly confidential.

In addition to the survey, Creative Glasgow is encouraging local creators to register for its online Members Directory, designed to function as an open digital calling card to connect independent practitioners across disciplines.
