Women in Games (WIG) has unveiled an exciting initiative to celebrate PRIDE month, announcing the WIG PRIDE 24-Hour Charity Stream – scheduled for Saturday, June 28th to Sunday, June 29th, 2025. This special event, supported by IGDA PRIDE, aims to bring together communities from across the games ecosystem to raise vital funds for The Trevor Project, an organisation providing crisis support and suicide prevention for LGBTQ+ youth.
The stream is set to kick off on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, at 8:00 PM BST (20:00) and will run continuously for 24 hours. It promises to be a vibrant celebration of PRIDE, community, and the positive power of games.
Supporting a Vital Cause
All proceeds from the stream will directly benefit The Trevor Project. This incredible organisation is focused on providing 24/7 crisis support, counselling, and suicide prevention services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning young people. Their work is essential in creating a safer, more affirming world for LGBTQ+ youth.
Women in Games: Driving Change
This event is being organised by Women in Games, a non-profit organisation dedicated to achieving a games industry, culture, and community free from discrimination. WIG champions full equity of opportunity, treatment, and conditions, empowering all women to achieve their full potential within the sector. This PRIDE stream is another example of their commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive communities.
Get Involved In The WIG PRIDE 24-Hour Charity Stream
Women in Games is extending a warm invitation to the games industry – including Scottish developers, studios, students, and community organisations – to get involved and support this important charity event. They are currently looking for:
- Game Studios/Publishers: To donate game keys for giveaways that will take place during the stream.
- Developers: Who might be interested in joining the stream for a segment to hang out, showcase their game, or chat about their work.
- Streamers: Of all sizes! The event will utilise Streamyard, meaning no complex OBS or custom setup is required, making it easy to participate.
- Moderators: To help manage the stream chat, run giveaways, and ensure a fun and safe environment for everyone involved.
Individuals and companies across Scotland (and around the world) who are interested in contributing in any of these ways are encouraged to connect with the organisers via the Women in Games Discord Event Channel. Or follow the official Women in Games website.
