The University of Glasgow’s Humanities Advanced Technology and Information Instititute (HATII) has organised a half day symposium exploring the area of game-based learning and the use of off-the-shelf consumer games technology within an educational context.

The symposium will feature three noted and high profile speakers who can provide insight into the rapidly evolving new area of game based learning…

The symposium will explore:

Game-based learning – ranging from the deployment of bespoke educational games in schools to the use of commercial off-the shelf (COTS) titles to support learning – is an area of increasing interest for educators, researchers, games developers and policy makers, who see the potential of video game technology to motivate and educate learners of all ages.

The event is FREE, you simply to to register to attend via Eventbrite.  The organisers are even promising to provide coffee and tea for those as yet undecided.
