BAFTA In Scotland Gives Bad Hotel An Award

At a star-spangled awards ceremony, presented by Edith Bowman, in Glasgow last night, the 2012 BAFTA in Scotland awards were handed out.

Winners included household names such as Billy Connolly (lifetime achievement award), Gregor Fisher (Best TV Actor) and Stuart Cosgrove (Outstanding contribution to Broadcasting).

However, for the second year in a row, all eyes were on the games category, which was one of the most well represented awards, with sixteen entries in the competition.

The three nominated games were Cobra’s iBomber Defense Pacific, Dynamo’s Golf Squared and Lucky Frame’s Bad Hotel.

In the end, Lucky Frame scooped the award, with Bad Hotel finishing an incredible year with a rather lovely shiny new award.

BAFTA In Scotland has asked us to pass on huge thanks to all of the companies who entered the competition.

If you’ve not played Bad Hotel yet, it’s a tower defence game in which, unusually, you defend an actual tower.  From yetis, birds with bombs and a rapacious Texan landlord nursing a grudge.  It’s also generates music and is one of the best looking mobile games we’ve seen for quite some time.

It’s available for iOS now.

However all three nominated games are worth trying and we’d recommend you give iBomber Defense Pacific and Golf Squared a try too.
