The British Academy of Film and Television Arts in Scotland (BAFTA Scotland to their friends), has today announced the nominations for the British Academy Scotland Awards in 2019, honouring the very best talent in film, games and television produced in Scotland over the last year.

Three games are in the running for this year’s award:

SOCKETEER is a frantic randomly generated top-down shooter where you play as a small robot that cannot shoot. Instead, the main character must hack into any electronic device and utilize it to survive.

Take control of defense robots and blast other enemies away, crack into security door control panels and slam them shut on unsuspecting guards, circumvent data consoles and download map information to help navigate to the exit.

Observation is a sci-fi thriller uncovering what happened to Dr. Emma Fisher, and the crew of her mission, through the lens of the station’s artificial intelligence S.A.M.

Players assume the role of S.A.M. by operating the station’s control systems, cameras, and tools to assist Emma in discovering what is happening to the station, the vanished crew, and S.A.M. himself.

Bloons Adventure Time TD is a crossover game between Ninja Kiwi’s Bloons TD series and Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time series. Based on the Bloons Tower Defense franchise, Bloons Adventure Time TD features the Bloon hordes invading the Land of Ooo!

Finn and Jake will need all the help they can get to stop them. Players can recruit their favorite Adventure Time characters including Princess Bubblegum, Marceline, Ice King and more, as well as the monkeys from the Bloons TD franchise as they travel from kingdom to kingdom to send the Bloons packing.

In the Animation category, Axis Animation has been nominated for it’s work on the Netflix series Love, Death and Robots.
