BAFTA Scotland – Games Industry Secrets Of Success

BAFTA_SCOTLAND_JPEGBAFTA Scotland has supported and engaged with the games industry in Scotland for several years now.  The games award in the annual competition, stands alongside film, television and is still the only award for games created in Scotland.

Since the start of 2013, the BAFTA Scotland team have been working on a series of events and plans to create a more active events programme and build up the profile of video games alongside the organisation’s existing film and TV activities.

Kate will discuss how her award winning company produce collaborative games that encourage children to work together, increasing social skills and confidence. How can a company successfully combine high education standards with fun and profit?
Alex Wozniak, Community Manager for One Thumb Mobile, will speak about the success of their mobile game Celtic Heroes. Launched in 2011, in just two years the game has achieved over 1 million downloads and is one of the highest grossing MMORPGs in the App Store. What is the key to creating a hit game, and keeping it at the top?
Donnie Kerrigan’s Chunk Group is at the forefront of interactive digital entertainment, working with television shows including The Bank Job and brands such as Cadbury’s to create ground breaking interactive experiences, apps and more which increase audience engagement.
