Celtic Heroes, One Thumb Mobile’s Mobile Massively-Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMMORPG) has just celebrated its second anniversary.
Since the game launched in June 2011, it has been downloaded over 1,000,000 times and is, according to the company, the highest grossing mobile MMO in the world.
Richard Hasinski, Founder and Director at One Thumb Mobile, told us:
Our mission was to make a fully open-world MMO adventure for mobile that would provide a real alternative to browser and PC MMOs. Originally people thought we were completely crazy to invest so much time and dedication into a mobile MMO, however the success of Celtic Heroes is testament to the expertise and passion the team have poured into the game. Mobile is the perfect platform for MMO gaming and we are extremely proud that Celtic Heroes is celebrating its second anniversary today.
To celebrate the anniversary, One Thumb Mobile is launching a month-long programme of in-game events, items and offers, including:
- The Crowning Glory Quest – The inhabitants of Lir’s Reach are throwing a party. Hamish the Hatter is in charge of festivities, but he needs your help to stop the mischievous summer fairies disrupting proceedings.
- Exclusive Dragonstaff Mounts* – Samrad the Wizard has brought the rare and mysterious Dragonstaff mounts to Dal Riata for a limited time only.
-  Rare Crowns & Cake – The fiendish Black Crown gang has returned to Lir’s Reach. Defeat one of these gate-crashing troublemakers to claim a slice of birthday cake or a rare black party crown.
- Birthday Balloons – It wouldn’t be a party without balloons, so Hamish the Hatter has scattered special anniversary party balloons throughout Lir’s Reach for players to collect.
