Gen Up – Open For Entries

Tiny RobotsGen Up Scotland is a training programme for recent graduates and emerging digital creatives.

Created by TRC Media in Glasgow it is a five week course which gives a maximum of eight participants access to a wide range of Scotland’s leading media companies and gives a overview of what it’s really like to work in the digital media industry.

The programme includes weeks at Channel 4, BBC Scotland, plus an internship at a Scottish digital media company.

Topics covered in Gen Up include:

  • Digital communications and advertising
  • Games and animation
  • Television and multiplatform
  • Advanced Internet research
  • Creative ideas and pitching
  • Professional development (CVs, winning interviews, team-working, personal effectiveness)

The programme runs full-time, from Mon 17 June until Thur 18 July 2013.

Candidates must be based in Scotland, with a talent for creating digital content for multiplatform are invited to apply. Applicants are likely to be: graduates looking to enter the industry; or individuals at an early stage in their media career

Selection for Gen Up Scotland will be highly competitive and the programme will be intensive and demanding.

Applicants will need to show a flair and passion for creating digital media content. We will also be looking for:

  • a positive attitude
  • a creative thinker
  • an enquiring mind
  • good communication skills
  • a strong work ethic
