nWay – New Company From Realtime Worlds Founders

Inside Social Games has an exclusive interview with nWay, a new West Coast (as in USA) technology start-up created by names which will be familiar to many within the Scottish games industry.

Tony Harman & Dave Jones are the CEO and CCO respectively, while COO Taehoon Kim ran Realtime’s Seoul studio.

nWay is working on a new game, titled Chrono Blade, an action role-playing game.  Chrono Blade is being developed as a cross-platform title, with an emphasis on the action and drop-in, drop-out style of gameplay.

The company is focusing on a free-to-play model and says that many of the larger publishers within the games industry are missing huge elements of the market, thanks to their inability to focus innovate when it comes to business models.

The game will incorporate viral and social elements, which will enable players to share progress and include friends in the game.  Facebook will be the lead platform with other new devices, including the OUYA being explored.  nWay promises it will be an entirely new experience on Facebook.

ChronoBlade is expected to go into a closed beta within the next two months.

nWay itself has reportedly received an undisclosed level of funding from Angel investors…

We also hear that the company’s technology offers something entirely new, outside the increased packet data exchange technology discussed in the article.

You can find nWay online, on Facebook, or follow them on Twitter.
